What to Expect on a Solution call with Level Accounting

Level Accounting's solution call: custom pricing & packages for accounting for the trades.

If you’re a contractor or home service business owner, you’ve probably looked at “small business accounting” options and thought—none of this actually fits what I do. That’s why we do things differently at Level.

Once you’ve had your Discovery Call with our team, your next step is the Solution Call—where we walk through pricing, packages, and how we tailor our services to support businesses like yours.

meeting about Business Accounting for the Trades

What does a solution call look like?

Solution Call is a scheduled 20-minute conversation where you’ll:

  • Review the service packages Level has to offer

  • Go over pain points our bookkeeping team found when reviewing your books

  • Determine the best next step for your business

If you’re a contractor, builder, or trade business owner searching for business accounting for the trades, you probably don’t want a cookie-cutter accounting firm. You want one that actually understands your business model—and that’s exactly what this Solution Call is about.

By this point, we’ve already gotten to know you and your business through your Discovery Call. That helps us make sure our pricing is accurate and our recommendations actually make sense for what you do.

How is pricing determined?

Once you have had your discovery call with Level Accountinghere’s what we’ll need from you before your Solution Call:

  • 4 months of statements for all business-related bank and credit card accounts

  • Your most recent business and personal tax returns

  • QuickBooks Online access with Level invited as an accountant user

We take the security of your sensitive documents seriously, which is why submissions happen through our secure client portal. We’ll walk you through that setup beforehand so you know exactly what to expect.

Once everything is submitted, your documents are handed off to our Accounting & Tax Manager for a full review. We look at your actual accounts and transactions—not just your business type or revenue.

From there, we grade the complexity of your bookkeeping using an internal system we’ve built. That includes things like:

  • How many accounts and credit cards we’re managing

  • How many transactions you run through each month

  • Whether there are loans or payroll liabilities that need to be tied out

Your proposal is based on what’s really going on in your books—and what it’ll take to keep everything accurate and moving forward.

When we say we specialize in business accounting for the trades, this is what we mean: pricing that fits your business, not just a flat rate pulled out of thin air.

What Packages Does Level Offer?

At Level, we offer three core service packages—Operational, Tactical, and Strategic—each designed to meet you where your business is and support where you’re headed:

  • Operational – Covers the essentials like accurate bookkeeping and staying compliant. Perfect for keeping your books clean and your back office tight.

  • Tactical – Adds in proactive tax planning and better reporting for businesses starting to scale and think strategically.

  • Strategic – Our most comprehensive support, with hands-on advisory, advanced planning, and consistent check-ins to help you hit big-picture goals.

If your business is still ramping up and brings in less than $500K a year, we also offer a Start-Up package. It’s designed to give newer businesses the structure and support they need—without overcommitting to a service level they don’t need (yet).

During your Solution Call, we’ll walk through your numbers, your pain points, and what’s going on behind the scenes. Then we’ll recommend the right fit—not just based on revenue, but on how much is happening inside your books.

Because at the end of the day, business accounting for the trades should feel like it was built for your business. That’s the whole point.

What Happens After Reviewing the Packages?

Your proposal will outline the package we recommend, the cost, and exactly what’s included. If you need time to review it, no problem. Proposals typically stay active for about a week—depending on what’s discussed between you and our team.

At the end of the day, the decision is yours—and it should be one that makes sense for you as the decision-maker of your business. We’re here to give you the clarity, support, and breathing room to make that call when the timing feels right.

That window—between your Solution Call and the proposal expiration date—is your decision-making zone. We’ll check in once or twice during that time to answer questions or talk through any concerns. No pressure—just making sure you’ve got what you need to move forward with confidence.

Because our goal isn’t to rush you—it’s to help you make the right call for your business.
