President of Business Development

I’m the owner of Level Accounting & Advisory, a construction-specialized accounting firm in Vero Beach, FL. I’ve spent 20 years building this firm to serve specialty trade contractors — HVAC, electrical, plumbing, concrete, hardscape, pool, fencing, decks — doing $1M–$15M in revenue.

I’m the former President of PASBA (the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants), and most of my time outside the firm goes to industry work. I speak at construction trade shows and conferences — including the 2026 JobTread trade show — run workshops for contractors on what good accounting looks like, and get invited regularly onto industry podcasts, including Brad Huebner’s, to talk about the business side of running a construction firm.

Locally, I’m an active member of the Treasure Coast Builders Association and the Indian River Chamber of Commerce. I also host the LevelUnfiltered podcast, where I talk about running an accounting firm, working with trades, and the stuff most accountants won’t say out loud.

Education: undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, graduate degree from Suffolk University.

Jake Andrews, E.A.

CEO

I’m the CEO of Level Accounting & Advisory, where I run the tax side of the firm. I’m an Enrolled Agent — licensed by the IRS to represent taxpayers directly in audits, appeals, and collections — and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor through Intuit.

My day-to-day is tax strategy, tax returns, and IRS representation for specialty trade contractors doing $1M–$15M in revenue: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, concrete, pool, decks, fencing, hardscape. The work I care most about is making sure contractors aren’t overpaying in April because nobody planned in October. On a typical takeover, we find $5,000–$20,000 in missed deductions the previous accountant left on the table.

Most contractors are getting bad tax advice from generalist CPAs who don’t know what a change order is, can’t read a WIP schedule, and don’t understand how vehicles, equipment, and sub payments flow through a contractor’s books. That’s the problem we built Level to solve.

Education: degree in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston.

Miranda is the Firm Finance & Billing Operations Lead at Level Accounting, where she oversees billing processes and supports the firm’s financial operations. She plays an important role in ensuring day-to-day billing runs smoothly and efficiently.

Outside of work, Miranda enjoys spending time with her kids, coaching t-ball and baseball, and gardening. She also serves as an elected official in her town on the board of library trustees.

Melanie is our Project Administrator & Onboarding Specialist, ensuring both client and internal operations run smoothly. She works closely with clients and staff to support their needs in any capacity, and with a front-row seat to the day-to-day operations, she’s constantly learning and developing her skills. Outside of work, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes and staying ahead of the latest fashion trends.

When I am not working, you can find me at the gym, on the golf course, or planning my next trip. I have been lucky enough to travel to 31 countries and counting, which has given me a pretty unique perspective on people, culture, and business. I am also a massive foodie, so if you have a restaurant recommendation, I am all ears.

Maddy is a Staff Accountant at Level and is currently pursuing her MBA with a concentration in accounting at Louisiana State University. Once she completes her degree, she plans to sit for the CPA exam. A Florida native, Maddy enjoys spending time outdoors—whether she’s on the boat, fishing, hunting, or relaxing by the pool. She also has a strong interest in business and goal-driven podcasts that keep her motivated.

Krystal is our Client Care Coordinator at Level Accounting. She ensures our clients receive exceptional service and support, acting as a vital link between them and our team. Having grown up on the Treasure Coast, she’s proud to serve the community she calls home while expanding her expertise in the accounting industry. Outside of work, Megan enjoys riding her motorcycle, diving into “unsolved mysteries” podcasts and documentaries, and working on personal creative writing projects. With three cats she adores, Megan fully embraces her title of “crazy cat lady” given to her by friends and family

Outside the office, Jojie loves exploring new destinations, with Europe as a favorite and a constant curiosity for discovering new cultures. When she’s not traveling, you’ll find her crocheting unique clothes and bags—a creative outlet that blends skill and relaxation. Jojie’s dedication to her craft, both professionally and personally, makes her an invaluable part of our team.

Katie owns Eleven Marketing Co and somehow also found time to build LaunchCopy, an AI marketing tool for service businesses – because apparently one business wasn’t enough.

She’s obsessed with direct-response copywriting, Marcus Sheridan, and dragging businesses into the 22nd century early through automations, AI, and systems that actually work. Marketing, sales, offers, processes — she’ll touch all of it.

When she’s not building something she probably doesn’t need, she’s wrangling her daughters or convincing her husband that her new business is a good idea.

Karla brings several years of experience in U.S. accounting and tax, with a background that includes individual and business tax preparation, tax return review, bookkeeping, and general accounting. In her most recent role as a Senior Tax Accountant, she also helped review the work of junior associates and provided training and technical guidance to her team.
Karla values accuracy, efficiency, and continuous learning, and we’re excited to have that experience and mindset on our team.
Outside of work, Karla is a huge coffee lover and enjoys checking out nearby cafés, for the different atmosphere and experience each one offers. She also loves traveling – and gets just as excited about nailing down the tiny details of the itinerary as the trip itself.
